The best looking thing to come out of the Escort since it’s very British conception, this was always one of my childhood hero cars. It was small and plucky, but had a weapon under the hood made by Cosworth. This eventually gave way to the Escort Cosworth also.

Most homologation cars are made and sold, solely for the purpose of being able to race them legally, Audi found a long standing model out of this endeavor. Also, they pioneered all-wheel-drive for the masses with this very vehicle.

This is back when Alfa was allowed to make things as pretty and fast as Ferrari. This fire red bathtub had a micro-sized v8, seemingly cammed so hard it could barely idle. A side note, this is my favorite car to race in my sim racing game. Its predictable powerband makes it easy and fun to drive, and the soundtrack causes you to wreck from winding it out too much!

I would kill to see Chrysler be brave enough to reproduce this. Dodge took the dive into aero like they do with everything else, too deep. Now, the level of effectiveness that the spoiler and nose provide is debatable, but its impact on the market wasn’t; i.e. its WB sidekick and those colors! Seriously, Dodge puts a Hellcat in a Caravan but we can’t get another Superbird.
